Coe Studios Architectural Lighting

Solid Bronze Hanging Garden Lamp

Welcome to Coe Studios!
This is our 25th year of designing and producing distinctive architectural lighting for customers who require a superior product with both durability and style. Our fixtures are made from the most functional material for withstanding the rigors of the outdoors: solid, durable bronze. Bronze never rusts—it becomes more beautiful with age as nature paints it with its own unique patina. And Coe Studios' lighting features sound construction and a simple, handsome design suited to a wide range of architectural styles and garden settings. All of our lamps carry a full life-time warranty. Most models qualify for the tough UL "Wet Location" or “Damp Location” status, and all are available in 12-volt or standard 120-volt current. We are a proud member of the Bay Area Green Business Program as well as One Percent for the Planet.

Coe Studios Architectural Lighting - UplightCoe Studios Architectural Lighting - Uplight July 2010
Coe Studios continues to build upon the tradition of simple elegant architectural exterior lighting with a cool new solid bronze uplight or "bullet" light. We have played with different designs over the years, and finally settled on a versitile and beautiful solution for illuminating trees, walls, or pathways. The changable pipe height and 360 degree swivel give a complete range of motion for unlimiuted lighting applications. And, all of the components are solid bronze, so they will never rust and color beautifully over the years. Please let us know if you would like more information!

Coe Studios - Solid Bronze FootlightJuly 2009
Introducing the super-solid Coe Studios Footlight with 1 12V LED bulb or 2 120V cool white LEDs . We have been experimenting with LEDs since their introduction. However, a good 120V option has been hard to nail down. Recently we found a bayonet bulb with a small form factor, but it just wasn't bright enough. In order to get good output and coverage, we added a second socket to our Solid Bronze Footlight. Now, the light is even and cool in our newest lamp: Model FL-LED. The bulbs emit no heat and last 50,000 hours. This is a great option for customers who never want to change a bulb again or are concerned about the heat of the lamp. These bulbs look especially nice with the new glass lenses, available in clear or frosted. The frosted lens gives an "icy fuzz" quality to the light. Please contact us for more details.

Coe Studios given award by California Heritage CouncilMay 2009
California Heritage Council has given an award to the Gravity Car which was built by Coe Studios: "West Point Inn (circa 1904) + Gravity Car Mt. Tamalpais, Mill Valley. The Inn is the sole surviving structures of a once famous and vibrant scenic railway where steam trains met a stagecoach for the beach. Today it operates more like a hostel than an Inn. The Gravity Car carried passengers down the mountain, a bit like a mountain roller-coaster, to Mill Valley."

Coe Studios Gravity Car RecreationFebruary 2009
San Francisco Chronicle featured the recreation of a Bay Area treasure, a "gravity car". Coe Studios Metalsmith created this functional piece of history from the ground up. Click here to read Jerry's story on how he did it!
Summer 2008
Coe Studios was featured on the front cover of K+BB and was a 2008 top pick of Home Companion Magazine.
